A cannabis cake is just as delicious as it sounds. Imagine your favourite cake – but up a notch – enhanced with the unsurpassable power of cannabis. So popular is it, that it can be obtained in almost any standard coffeeshop in Amsterdam in one form or another, and is gaining popularity among those who want to achieve a high, but to do so in a more measured, discreet ( and tasty ) way.
With that in mind, here’s a cannabis cake recipe so you can make your own.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Ingredients:
· 8 grams of cannabis ( or an equivalent amount of hash )
· 1 & ¾ cups of flour
· 1 cup of granulated sugar
· 2 eggs
· 1 cup of unsalted butter
· ¾ of a cup of milk
· ½ a teaspoon of salt
· 1 teaspoon of baking powder
**You can use any extra ingredient you like to make the cake even tastier, such as cocoa powder, vanilla or rum extract, dried fruit, icing, buttercream, chocolate chips, or anything else — only your imagination is the limit.
Equipment:
· Mixing bowl
· Spatula or mixing spoon
· Cake tin
· Oil spray or baking paper
· A grinder
· Oven
· Microwave
· Small bowl
· Skewers
PREPARATION
Preheat the oven to approximately 104°C to 113°C (219°F to 235°F). Put the ground cannabis into a heat-resistant container and place in the oven. Bake for about 30-40 minutes. This decarboxylates the marijuana, making its cannabinoids become bioavailable.
Then preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
Put the butter in a bowl and microwave for 20 seconds. The goal is for the butter to simply soften (not melt) and become malleable and soft in texture.
Stir in the freshly ground cannabis into the butter.
Then, put all the sugar, flour, eggs, milk, cannabis butter mixture, anything else to taste into a bowl. Mix all the ingredients until you get a nice even dough. This may take a few minutes, but ensure that the cannabis is distributed as evenly as possible. Note: if the mixture is slightly dry, add a little milk; if it is too wet, add some extra flour.
Spray the cake tin with some oil spray or line it with baking paper.
Carefully pour the mixture into the mould and let it bake for 25 minutes.
After 25 minutes, gently prick the middle of the cake with the skewer. If it comes out clean, it is ready, if the dough sticks to it, leave it in the oven for another 5 minutes. Repeat until the skewer comes out dry.
Allow the cake to cool in the mould for at least 20 minutes; then, place upside down on a rack, remove the mould and allow to cool for an additional 30 minutes.
When cool, decorate the finished cake as you like.
Enjoy!
So simple, that literally almost anyone has the ability to make it. And, thanks to its versatility, you can vary it to your liking, creating creative, unique and delicious flavours. Enjoy responsibly and tell the secret ingredient to everyone you share the cake with. This is where your journey on the timeless path of happiness begins (just leave a 45-90 minute to digest).
A Couple of Excellent Strains
PURPLE QUEEN
The Purple Queen takes its name from its stunning purple hue, which can be seen on both its flowers and sugar leaves. This indica-dominant hybrid comes from the Hindu Kush Mountains, which were brought into the world of cannabis with the help of tribal hunters. It is a descendant of the Purple Afghani and Hindu Kush strains and is a 75% indica and 25% sativa cross. The strong citrus scent and flavour present in this variety will endow any cannabis cake with vivid fruity notes. Purple Queen has a THC level of 22%, which when consumed in an edible form provides a powerful experience for the consumer. Its effects are primarily relaxing and euphoric and soothe the whole body.
This strain enjoys a mild and warm climate and grows well both outdoors and indoors. In the case of indoor cultivation, yields of around 450g - 500g/m² can be expected, and in terms of height they range somewhere between 80 and 120 centimetres. The yield of plants grown outdoors can be as high as 700g/plant and they can grow to about 210cm in size. The indoor flowering time of Purple Queen is 7 - 8 weeks, and in the case of outdoor cultivation, the harvest can be expected in October.
LEMON SHINING SILVER HAZE
Lemon Shining Silver Haze can be a great ingredient for any cannabis cake. This powerful strain exudes a fresh lemon scent when smoked, and enables you to add a slight citrus flavour to any delicacy. This sativa-dominant strain spins the mind and opens the gates to creative ideas, improves mood and helps focus as well. Consuming Lemon Haze Cannabis cake can be especially beneficial
before a long work day that involves creative activities. THC levels in this strain range from 15 to 20%, which can cause from moderate to very intense highs. After consuming a slice of Lemon Haze cake, in the first hour, the consumer will begin the euphoric, uplifting, happy and energetic “journey” that this strain has to offer.
Lemon Haze is a fairly easy-to-grow strain that produces a good yield. It can reach up to almost 200cm in height and has a flowering time of 7-9 weeks. Its flowers are particularly stunning, which are light green with bright orange veins, and are covered with a shimmering layer of juicy resin.
SOLOMATIC CBD
Consuming cannabis-based cakes can be very enjoyable, even if it doesn’t involve a high, and that’s where CBD versions are a hit. Many users consume such edibles because of their therapeutic rather than psychoactive effects. This is where strains like the Solomatic CBD come into the picture; incredibly rich in CBD, they have a THC that is an almost non-existent. Quantitatively, the CBD content is 21%, while THC is only 1% - allowing consumers to experience the medicinal benefits of CBD without feeling high. These values represent the highest CBD: THC ratio currently available on the market, which is present in this strain at a ratio of 21: 1. Eating cannabis cakes made with this strain will give the consumer a refreshed and relaxed feeling. Solomatic CBD flowers contain terpenes that impart sweet, fruity, ginger and pine aromas and flavours to the plant.
Very easy to grow, it is an autoflowering plant. Thus, it is not necessary to change the light cycle to achieve flowering. Growers will also get to enjoy the rewards of a good crop that only takes 9 weeks from the first shoot through to harvest.
