CHOOSE STRAINS APPROPRIATELY
A reliable source is, as with all things, paramount to ensuring a product that will deliver what it promises. Of course, there is an even greater chance of doing this if you live in a place where marijuana can be purchased from a legal specialty store or similar. If, on the other hand, you live in a country where this is not yet the case, then you will have scant access to information into the origins of the product, and potentially little to none about the actual dealer who is selling it to you, and/or how many hands it has gone through to get there. However, if you have the specific name of the strain, then the internet will be your best friend in terms of looking up which the best strains are for your individual needs
THE IMPORTANCE OF APPROPRIATE STORAGE
Poorly stored product can absolutely cause its effects to be diminished. Using a plastic container, or even the bag in which you received it, can seriously impair its effectiveness. The plastic will generate an electric charge that will, effectively, bake the THC-rich trichomes on the plant. To avoid this, always use a glass or steel container.
There are also containers with a built-in humidity controller and removable moisture bags. If you don’t have one, you can sub that out for orange, lemon or lime peel and place it in with the weed for 2-3 hours. This prevents it from drying out completely, crumbling, thus losing its strength. It is recommended to store in a dark, cool place to maintain quality.
CHANGE THE METHOD OF USE
Some people like to smoke or vape their product, some prefer partaking in edibles, etc. The upshot is, they will have a different experience of the same drug when they try other methods to enjoy it.
You may want to try eating cannabis-containing foods instead of using inhalation based methods. In general, edible delicacies are considered to be the most effective cannabis preparations. Be as careful as possible with these if you are new to it, as achieving the high takes a good deal longer, and the temptation to eat too much too quickly can lead to excess consumption.
CHANGE UP YOUR ROUTINE
Suppose you store the already good quality grass properly. Though it may seem counterintuitive, reducing consumption at random times for a short while can actually be very beneficial. By definition, consistently too much of anything is rarely good - be it cannabis, pain killers, dieting etc. etc... As your body adapts, it needs more and more cannabinoids to develop cannabis tolerance, and an almost unwinnable cycle commences.
Consider how you can realistically change things about your cannabis use. If the first thing you do in the morning is light a cigarette, on some days try waiting until the afternoon or evening to fool your body's responses. If you smoke a lot at night, throw your tolerance off balance by having some days where you partake in less during the daytime. Observe when you usually light up, and see if changing your schedule on occasion breaks some of your tolerance and helps that higher high to return.
CREATE THE RIGHT KIND OF EDIBLES
There are many pleasant companions to marijuana that enhance its effects. A cup of simple black or green tea contains catechin, an antioxidant that binds to the CB1 receptor in the brain. This helps make the sedative effect of cannabinoids much more effective.
Dark chocolate has a similar effect if it has a cocoa content of at least 72%. Not only will it act as an antioxidant, but it will slow down the breakdown of anandamide, a chemical named after the Sanskrit "bliss," or "pleasure." This maintains the feeling of prolonged high.
Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids also efficiently synthesise endocannabinoid and cannabinoid receptors. Also try terpene-rich foods that contain myrcene, which enhances the effects of THC, or foods that are high in pinene, which in turn increases the high. Pinene is found in sage, thyme and other herbs, while myrcene is most present in mango, broccoli and nuts. If none of them succeed, a multivitamin supplement can be your weapon of choice, by overall improving the ability of absorption through increasing the proper flow of the circulatory system. This will be very useful for the flow of THC.
EXERCISE
Self-examination is very important: how healthy are your everyday habits, in general? It is worth examining diet to increase the body's health, as well as improve the effects felt by cannabis. Body fat is where a lot of THC is absorbed and stored. As a result, it will be absorbed more slowly, which will also affect the effect. So a diet and exercise that reduces total body fat is recommended.
Exercise is also beneficial, not only for general health, but studies show that it affects the brain in a similar way to cannabis. A 2013 study on drug and alcohol addiction found that cardio training raises blood THC levels by 15%.
A COMPLETE SHORT BREAK
If none of the above solutions work and you still don't feel the effects we want, it’s perhaps worth thinking about potentially deeper issues. Is it that you are simply not achieving the high you want, or could it be that difficult life circumstances are becoming ever harder to manage, and no amount of cannabi, alone, can alleviate that. Deep-rooted emotional, psychological or even physical problems - whilst very effectively helped by cannabis in many circumstances - is never going to be resolvable with any single product or approach alone. It is akin to emotional eating; there is a point, at which no amount of chocolate or ice cream will be enough to help you feel better, where once it may have, because the wounds are within. Be honest about the amount of cannabis you consume, taken alongside other potential emotional or psychological health issues, and consider if perhaps cannabis alone is not enough to “heal” those potentially substantial inner ills.
It is absolutely okay if you decide to take a break from anything you enjoy - be it chocolate or cannabis or coffee - to bring your tolerance back in line. It is estimated that it takes about a month for cannabinoids to leave the body completely, so give it a try and see how it goes!
